Now Where Did I Put That Tin Foil Hat? : GW2

So after I killed the Fire Elemental and opened my new-style Bonus Chest I was looking to see if the new WvW thing was in the achievements window and I spotted something odd right down the bottom. Hmm, Super Adventure Box? I'm sure I'd have remembered that...

A quick search finds this forum post from the end of February, which links to this database entry. In the actual Patch Notes? Nothing.

Let the conspiracy theories begin!

[EDIT] And already the mystery is solved and I lose interest.

  2. Wait a minute, upon further inspection this looks less like a scavenger hunt but more like a entirely new minigame?

Well...EXCITED ANYWAYS. I hope there will be lots of jumping involved.

    1. Josh Foreman (designer of the Mad King's Clocktower, Weyandt's Revenge, and many other excellent jumping puzzles) has been talking about his work on the "mother of all jumping puzzles" on Reddit in the last month or two: http://www.reddit.com/user/Ragged_Scrybe. It sounds like this might be it. I'm hoping for an April Fool's Day launch.

  3. Not sure I quite see the Jumping Puzzle connection, although of course a JP could form the access route to these mysterious "Zones" and "Worlds". There's speculation in-game right now about it being connected to April Fool's Day, but traditionally that's very much a one-day thing and this looks...substantial. I seem to remember ANet saying something about not having in-game holidays tied too closely to real life ones, too.

    1. Apparently it's an "8-bit platformer". Not exactly a jumping puzzle but not far off. And it is coming on April 1st.

Move along folks, nothing to see.

    2. Pffffffffffffffffffft I am judging you for not liking platformers like every "proper" gamer should.

      (I kid. Slightly)

    3. Heh! I finished Manic Miner in 1983 and that was me done with platforms. It's actually not the platform part that I'm uninterested in, it's the whole 8-bit thing. I was there for all of that and I have absolutely no nostalgia for it whatsoever. The current fad for it makes no more sense to me than if someone were to suggest we should go back to listening to music on shellac 78s.

  4. Hullo there! Tell Master Rox to look out for a young ranger called Simetac on this travels!
