I know World of Warcraft used to create 'New Player' servers where they wouldn't allow server transfers for a period of time. However, I never saw them advertised and I don't know if there are still creating them or not. For it to work well, I would think you'd have to have a relatively large player base to begin with (I'd say there are fewer than 10 games that would qualify now) and then you'd have to have a way of attracting attention to them.<br /><br />FYI, this is my first post for my personal Blaugust comment challenge.
