The Eels have that acoustic alternative sound that is so 90s. (Okay, there's a dose of Violent Femmes in there too, but the Femmes leaned in hard into the shock value.)
ReplyDeleteI can't really categorize Birdcloud's song, tho. Musically it has an 80s vibe, but they have their own spin on the sound with the lyrics.
Eels are one of those bands that's always there but I never notice. Which is odd because I usually like them when I happen across them. I thought Birdcloud were new to me but now I look them up I realize I have heard them before. They're generally described as country but I wouldn't have guessed it from this.
