Hmm. I don't think Earl Sweatshirt is gangsta rap per se. He was part of the Odd Future, collective and they were all terrifying but it was a lot more existential terror than thuggery. He's something of an elder statesman figure now, like they all are. It happens to everyone if they stay on the scene long enough.
