    That second one especially gave off those 80s vibes, but I liked the first one more. Mabye it's her voice that attracted me the most.

      Tatsuro Yamashita is the king of City Pop, the Japanese take on 80s Western pop. Mabes was new to me but I agree about her voice - I love her Lily Allenesque glottal stops and the wryness of tone. I listened to several more of her songs and they were all good.
