Ah, Kmart. A blast from the past. We had one of the last Kmarts not too far from our house; it closed about 7-10 years ago. I remember when Kmart was actually considered a pretty decent store to shop at, but I was a wee lad at the time. I'm sure that the elderly folks would complain that the beginning of the end of Kmart was when they allowed video games into their stores, because it attracted "a bad element".
Alas that Denny's is likely to follow Kmart sometime soon, because private equity is in the process of buying Denny's (the purchase closes in 2026), so I expect Denny's to implode sometime in the next 5 years as it certainly seems that the only thing private equity can do is destroy, not create.
But apart from that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?
Neither Kmart nor Denny's ever made it over here, as far as I know. Denny's turns up in novels quite often, which is where I know the name from. Kmart less so. I don't really have much of a mental picture of what either of them is like.

Oh, the music I did like, especially the Denny's one. In its own way, if you're at a Dennys during Christmas, you're in a sad situation.
