Yeah, it's quite feeble. Also, as Redbeard points out below, not the original Archies. Although if a band is fictional, can there ever be an "original" or is every iteration equally valid? Discuss.
As for Snoopy, I think you might mean "Snoopy's Christmas". If so, check out Day 15 2024
The song sounded far too current to be from the original band that played as The Archies in the late 60s, so I went hunting. Sure enough, the album it's off of was released in 2008. Ron Dante may be involved, but it's not the same sound. (The Wikipedia article on The Archies Christmas Album backs me up on this, but that's kind of like damning with faint praise.)
Still, something with the name The Archies that doesn't vaguely reference the current television show Riverdale is welcome.
I really wanted to double up with a clip from Riverdale but all the Christmas ones I looked at weren't really tight enough. It does annoy me when people post baggy clips from TV shows or movies that are meant to showcase a specific point or mood but just ramble off into something else. I did think about editing one to make it snappier and more relevant but I didn't have the time and anyway it seemed like a lot of effort for a minimal hit of amusement so I just went with the song. Which, as Tipa points out, isn't really pulling its weight either.
This seems a little low effort on their part after "Sugar Sugar". This song could have been done by the Partridge Family.
ReplyDeleteHave you ever featured "Snoopy vs the Red Baron"? I loved that Christmas song when I was a kid.
