I heard that song and thought "mid-80s". I wasn't disappointed; I am surprised that he didn't get into circulation here in the States, since the sound would have gone perfectly in that era.
Having read a bit of good ol' Captain on Wikipedia, it's nice to see he's also a fan of Crystal Palace. (As if I don't have enough sports teams I cheer for that underachieve on the field.)
I rate the Captain quite highly as a songwriter but I really wanted to include this for the backing vocalists, who are, of course, my favorite band of all time, Dolly Mixture. I thought I had pretty much all of their collabs with the Captain (Who married Rachel of the Dollies) but I'd missed this one. It was a great Christmas present to myself that I'm happy to share.
